About WCMG
WCMG - World Cup Matches and Goals is a website built in Mexico by World Cup football fans, with a simple purpose: bring together the complete history of the FIFA World Cups, from Uruguay 1930 to the current tournament, in one place, with data you can look up quickly and trust.
Data verified against official sources
Every match, every goal, and every goalscorer that appears on WCMG has been checked and cross-referenced against official FIFA sources and other reliable historical records before being published. This includes exact scores, goal minutes, own goals, extra time, and penalty shootouts across more than 1,500 matches played over 23 editions of the tournament. When a historical detail is ambiguous or sources contradict each other, we note that instead of making up an answer.
Unique stats, hard to find elsewhere
Beyond results and standings, WCMG aims to surface comparisons and cuts of information that are normally hard to find gathered in one place: historical head-to-heads between national teams, comparisons across full World Cup editions, youngest and oldest goalscorers, the most-repeated scorelines in history, own goals, braces and hat-tricks, goals by minute of play, and much more. The idea is that anyone — from someone who just wants to confirm a result to someone digging deep into the tournament's history — finds something here that isn't on other sites.
Amazing stories, backed by checkable data
Our Amazing Stories section collects anecdotes, records, and curious moments from World Cup history — but every story is anchored in facts that can be verified within our own match and goalscorer database, not in rumors or unsourced claims. If a story mentions a record, that record can be confirmed by checking the rest of the site.
The games are just for fun
WCMG also offers activities like the Infinite World League and the 2030 World Cup Qualifiers Predictor. These games are simulations for entertainment purposes — they don't represent official forecasts, aren't affiliated with FIFA, and shouldn't be confused with the real statistical information that is the heart of the site. We keep them clearly separate so it's always obvious what's a verified historical fact and what's a game meant simply for fun.
